In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

3 reasons to book
  • Spacious capsule bunks with real privacy — Guests repeatedly mention large compartments, thick curtains, personal lights, and plugs at each bed – rare for a budget dorm.
  • Owner goes above and beyond — Fluent in French, the owner provides free maps, local food tips, and even returned forgotten SIM cards. Several guests call him the highlight of the stay.
  • Central Old City location — Within walking distance of the Sunday Night Market, near the Lanna Folklife Museum, and easy to explore the old town on foot or by bike.

Worth weighing

3 to weigh
  • Mixed value score — The 'Value' category rates 7.0, the lowest of all categories, suggesting some guests question the price-to-experience ratio even if individual reviews are positive.
  • Adults-only policy — Only adults are allowed (no children), which may exclude travellers with families despite the 'Family King Room' being listed.
  • Small scale, potential crowding — With only 10 rooms and a modest rating of 7.2 overall, the hostel may feel limited in common space during peak times.

“This hostel blew me away for the price. Private light and plug, AC in the dorms, hot water – I felt completely at home. The owner speaks fluent French and went out of his way to help, giving great tips on where to eat and how to do activities cheaply. The free Old City map was a lifesaver. Being able to boil water for tea or noodles and the affordable laundry service were big pluses. The capsule bunks are bigger than normal with plenty of storage, plus a personal fan and reading light. Kitchen, luggage storage, key access – all convenient. The owner's knowledge and generosity made this one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in.”
